ETRYUM for organisations · Executive health

Leading under load.
Health for those who carry
the decisions.

Demand comes with the role. What makes the difference is the margin of control, the hours and the recovery. Evidence-based medicine for executives, founders and management committees.

Dr Emmanuel González, ETRYUM's referring physician for executive health, at the clinic's reception.

The idea

What wears you down is not the role.
It is the margin.

In real leaders, a more senior role is associated with less cortisol and less anxiety, largely through a greater sense of control. When that control is lost to an external shock, the cost shows up in life expectancy.

−1.1 yearsof life expectancy after an industry crisis during the tenure.

+2 yearswhen the chief executive was shielded from market pressure.

Chief executives of large listed US companies, with data from the mid-seventies onwards. Borgschulte et al., The Journal of Finance, 2025.

The measurable cost

The load leaves a mark.
And it can be measured.

+35 %

risk of stroke when working 55 hours or more a week, compared with 35–40 hours.

WHO/ILO, 2021

+17 %

risk of dying from ischaemic heart disease with those same hours.

WHO/ILO, 2021

≈ 1 year

older in apparent age over the following decade, among chief executives who lived through an industry crisis during the Great Recession.

Borgschulte et al., 2025

Apparent age is a research measure from that study. At ETRYUM we work with objective, verifiable clinical data.

The approach

The decision first.
The test afterwards.

A standard check-up of everything produces data, but rarely direction. We start by understanding the person: their history, their hours, their margin of decision and their recovery. From there we decide what is worth measuring.

Depending on the case, the day may combine:

  1. 01

    Cardiovascular risk and longevity

    Dr Emmanuel González

Overall risk, blood pressure, lipids, metabolism and physical capacity.

  2. 02

    Integrative medicine

    Dr Patrick Welter

One reading of symptoms, history and tests, with a clear priority.

  3. 03

    Psychoneuroimmunology

    Cristóbal Becerril

    Stress, sleep, rhythm and recovery.

  4. 04

    Musculoskeletal health and recovery

Samuel Rubio and Dr Pablo Clemente

Pain, mobility, strength and return to activity.

All in one coordinated day

For companies

For management committees.
In full confidence.

Each participant receives an individual, confidential assessment. The organisation knows the framework; the medical record always belongs to the person.

  • An individual, confidential assessment for each executive.
  • Participation is always voluntary.
  • An aggregated, anonymous report for the organisation, only if agreed beforehand and only if the group is large enough for no one to be identified.

Frequently asked

What a management committee
usually asks.

See all frequently asked questions

What does the company receive, and what does the person receive?
The person receives their full assessment and their plan. The company receives only an aggregated, anonymous report, and only if this was agreed beforehand and the group is large enough for no one to be identifiable.
How much time has to be set aside?
The assessment is organised as a single coordinated day, planned in advance according to each person's needs and the team's availability.
Do you need a health problem to come?
No. Most people who come feel well and want to know their starting point, their real risk and what is worth protecting over the coming years.
Is measuring cortisol useful?
A single cortisol says little about an executive's real risk: it varies through the day and, in leaders with control, tends to be lower rather than higher. We prefer to measure what can change a decision.
